Building on the success of UbiSense 2025 at UbiComp/ISWC 2025 in Espoo, Finland — which attracted over 75 participants and was one of the largest workshops at the conference — UbiSense 2026 expands the scope of AI-driven ubiquitous sensing to embrace the rapidly emerging paradigm of agentic AI. The proliferation of autonomous AI agents is fundamentally reshaping how sensing data is collected, analysed, and acted upon. Unlike the passive, pipeline-oriented models explored in our inaugural edition, agentic systems can autonomously perceive sensor environments, plan multi-step analysis workflows, invoke external tools, and adapt their strategies in real time.
UbiSense 2026 will be hosted at UbiComp/ISWC 2026 in Shanghai, China, and aims to bring together researchers, practitioners, and industry experts to investigate how agentic AI can be harnessed for ubiquitous sensing — spanning autonomous sensor data interpretation, agent-orchestrated experiment pipelines, multi-agent coordination for distributed sensing, and human-agent collaborative interaction. The full-day program features invited keynote talks, paper presentations, a hands-on interactive session with agent-based sensing demonstrations, and author-led roundtable discussions.
The Call for Papers will be released soon. Accepted papers will be published in the UbiComp/ISWC 2026 Adjunct Proceedings.
